RSM Sydney Fit-out

 Sydney, NSW, Australia
RSM, a prominent professional services firm in Australia, tasked WMK with designing a dynamic new head office at 1 Martin Place, Sydney.

Spanning 3,600 sqm across two podium levels, the project presented the dual challenge of limited natural light, demanding innovative design strategies to create an inviting destination that would encourage staff and clients to return to the workplace.

WMK’s agile planning strategy centered on the introduction of a central interconnecting stair, seamlessly linking client spaces with staff amenities and fostering a sense of openness. The design integrates biophilic elements alongside a soothing, neutral palette to create a warm and inviting atmosphere. Emphasis was placed on expansive breakout and amenity spaces, supporting a workplace culture that values concentration, teamwork, and social engagement in equal measure.

Lighting played a pivotal role in enhancing the overall fitout, addressing the challenges of limited natural light and creating a welcoming atmosphere throughout the workspace. ELS’s partner Jadecross supported Aston Consulting, by developing a flexible, track-based lighting solution tailored to the multifunctional needs of the space.

The installation of ELS’s Flex 70 track luminaires not only highlights key design features within breakout and movement areas but also contributes to an adaptable and visually engaging environment. The three-circuit track system offers the ability to reposition luminaires as required, allowing the lighting scheme to evolve alongside the changing functions of the space—ensuring that every area remains optimally lit and inviting.
