Efficient Lighting Systems was privileged enough to receive a visit from our South Australia distribution team Rob Hill, Calvin Burgess, Jenny Petschenyk and, Angela O’Donoghue on Friday 25th October.
The day started with a tour around our Efficient Lighting Systems Brunswick factory. H.I Lighting clients Stuart Stallard from Stallard Meek, Gavin Hall from WSP, Dominic Macura from BESTEC and, James Packer from Contech were introduced to the end-to-end manufacturing process, and our commitment to Australian designed and made products. The team were able to see behind the scenes of our extrusion and production line process by Lee Wilkinson, Director at ELS. The Australian Made element really stood out to our visitors, many of which were intrigued by the true ‘hands on’ aspect.
Moving on from this, our guests were shown upstairs where Colin Scott presented the new Ligman Exterior products range which included the 48V Landscape, MicroVos, Light connect and L-Column. Colin’s passion for exterior lighting really showcased what these ranges have to offer in the industry of exterior lighting. A quick break for lunch gave our guests time to converse about any un-answered questions or queries.
After lunch a technical discussion then lead the group to cover topics such as Xicato chip technology and the importance of colour consistency which brought to surface some eye opening demonstrations that highlighted the differences between a cheap no-name brand light with high glare and no control of optical output, and an Efficient Lighting Systems quality Australian Made downlight showcasing low glare and full control of optical output. Amongst all of this Director at ELS, Lee Wilkinson talked about some of the benefits of local manufacturing which included; decreased lead times and onsite photometric testing which included a quick trip to our electrical engineers’ office.
Towards the afternoon, Sales Consultant Myles Guldon talked about the new ELS product ranges of Australian Made Downlights and Linear Extrusion, as well as some exciting things that remain in product development! Lee then touched on the latest in lighting control technology including a well engaged discussion on Casambi dimming technology.
The evening ended with a lovely dinner in Melbourne City where conversation continued to blossom about everything the day had to offer.
On behalf of Efficient Lighting Systems, we would like to sincerely thank our guests from H.I Lighting for bringing their esteemed clients over to take a tour with us around our Brunswick Factory. We thoroughly look forward to your next visit.
