Austins Ferry Primary School

About Project

A unique piece of architecture that required a lighting solution to compliment the linear nature of the spaces. With high sloping ceilings it was important to suspend the lighting into the rooms to bring the light closer to the student learning spaces, reducing the overall energy load required. This also allowed for a two-in-one solution, integrating an indirect component to the task lighting to highlight the ceiling and accentuate the volume of the space. ELS UpDown 50 was selected for its ability to provide a high CRI, continuous light source with a high level of aesthetic detailing that matched the architecture. The ability to continue this look into areas of lower ceilings was also an important consideration. The System 66 recessed fitting was used here to ensure the continuous aesthetic between the spaces, further tying the lighting system to the architectural thread.
