About Project
Magellan Financial Group’s brief for their new 2 story office space in Sydney’s iconic MLC Centre was for a hybrid solution that combined an activity based workplace (ABW) that still allowed for individual desks. This egalitarian objective created a contemporary yet modest space featuring a paired back palette with an emphasis on natural materials such as wood and concrete in tones of grey, white and black.
Key features of the fit-out include bespoke wave profile wall panelling treated with a coating that emulate the colour, texture and feel of concrete to tie in with the exposed ceilings. As a contrast to the concrete look walls custom wood panelled ceilings with large circular cut outs emphasise the exposed ceilings behind. These circular cut outs often mirror the cabinetry and soft furnishings on the floor below. These areas are further highlighted by the use of ADL150 pendants mounted within the ceiling cut-outs. ADL90 trimless downlights have been cleverly used in the timber panelled ceiling for minimal disruption to the look of the timber.
