Located close to to Perth’s city center Kent Street Senior High School has been providing quality secondary education for over 80 years.

Mondoluce together with ETC Solutions came to ELS with a custom requirement for the SL30 linear luminaire for a Stem Lab at the Kent Street High School Stem Lab. Each of the Stem Labs had been designed with a custom ceiling, incorporating both a painted honeycomb design directly onto the T-Bar ceiling and a set of honeycomb panels affixed to the ceiling.

It was the client’s desire to create a flexible lighting solution that could seamlessly mirror the honeycomb designs on the ceiling. While being able to replicate the honeycomb ceiling design, it was also crucial for the luminaires to be able to change orientation and design layout at any time in case of future layout changes within the Stem Labs.

ELS was able to design a customised joiner for the SL30 profile that allowed for discretely hidden through wiring and the ability to change the orientation of luminaires at any stage without compromising on the luminaire performance or the design aesthetic required by the client.

The design of the custom joiner integrated both hidden wiring, connections and the suspension fixing points to ensure the luminaires would remain rigid regardless of the luminaire design layout changing into the future.
